Melakee Nicholson has experience in both traditional forms of psychotherapy and alternative approaches to mental health and well being. She is a pioneer in the field of farm therapy / care farming, serving as Director Of Therapy at the Simple Sparrow Care Farm located near Austin. One of the premises of care farming is that many people feel better when then have been around animals. Visiting a farm and participating in activities like animal husbandry can be effective for relieving the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
For the last four years, Melakee has provided psychotherapy services at Alive Austin, where visitors may find themselves greeted four legged friend.
