Sexual sadism disorder involves persistent sexual excitement stemming from fantasies, urges, or behavior related to causing physical or psychological harm to another during sexual activity. A pattern of sexual excitement does not qualify as a mental disorder unless accompanied by significant personal distress, impairment, or harm to self or others.
