Pamela has extensive experience in psychotropic meds, weight loss, sexual health, and sleep through her innovative one on one counseling and appointment based care at NuCara Health Solutions. This tailored medication therapy management involves pharmacists working with patients to optimize medication use. Pamela reviews medications, provides education, addresses concerns, and helps patients manage their conditions effectively, all to ensure patients benefit from their medication while minimizing risks and side effects.
Pamela Wiltfang is Rare Disease Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Amgen. As a MSL, she delivers and facilitates medical education and communications, research, and scientific insight gathering activities of Amgen. Her geography includes 5 states in the Midwest (IA, MN, NE, ND, SD).
Pamela earned her PharmD/MPH from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy (UICOP)/College of Public Health. She spent 11.5 years in independent/specialty pharmacy as Director of Clinical Services & Innovative Practice at NuCara Pharmacy.
At NuCara, Dr. Wiltfang’s expertise includes: ambulatory care, long-term care, medication therapy management, PBM management, retail, compounding (sterile, non-sterile, hazardous, non-hazardous), telepharmacy, veterinary, specialty (HIV/AIDS), and consulting.
Concurrently, Pamela was an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and Kirkwood College teaching pharmacology, law, calculations, and compounding courses. The pharmacology topics Pamela covers include: immunology, integumentary, musculoskeletal, nervous, sensory, cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, endocrine, reproductive, renal, immunology, pain management, nutrition, fluids, electrolytes, oncology, pharmaceutical development, and medication safety.
Pamela’s most recent role prior to Amgen was Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison (Rare Disease/Oncology) at Immunocore. Pamela also currently sits on the Iowa Board of Physician Assistants. In addition to clinical practice, she was active in clinical research. Pamela was appointed Project Coordinator for 8 different research studies/clinical trials while at NuCara Pharmacy. Pamela was awarded 2020 Young Pharmacist of the Year in the state of Iowa and 2019 Preceptor (Teacher) of the Year in 2018 from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
