Michelle Liu is a Mental Health Technology Editor at Choosing Therapy with a focus on digital mental health applications and intervention implementation. She is focused on providing clear insights on different digital tools accessible to you through conducting platform reviews.
She has her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience from the University of California, Riverside, and her Master of Public Health in Public Mental Health from the University of California, San Diego. She is dedicated to increasing accessible and equitable mental health resources for Asian American adolescents. Michelle has worked in the non-profit sphere on projects funded by The Public Health Institute (PHI) and the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) conducting different health promotion campaigns and community engagement initiatives in her community. She also has experience in conducting research studies in the academic world on topics such as design in mental health and clinical research among adolescents and college students.
Michelle has worked on the One Mind Psyberguide Project, a project funded by One Mind, on digital mental health application reviews. She focused on credibility reviews on the different digital health interventions available for users to download. Apps that focused on mindfulness meditation to apps that focused on gamification, Michelle has used the apps and assessed their evidence. With that expertise, she has written and co-authored papers on digital mental health interventions and their implementation within different populations.
