Everlywell sells lab tests that you collect at home. Once a kit is ordered you collect a finger-prick blood spot, a saliva sample, or urine sample. You then mail it to a certified lab with a prepaid label. Once results are complete a physician will review the results and they will then be available in your account, usually 5 to 7 business days after the lab processes the sample. Since some tests count as diagnostic, like the chlamydia, gonorrhea test, and the thyroid tests, these come with a free doctor consultation if something is positive. The rest are screening tools, and Everlywell says they are not meant to diagnose or treat disease.

Everlywell is a great fit for an adult without insurance who wants a specific marker checked, such as TSH or vitamin D, and who is ready to share the result with a clinician. It is not a good fit if you are seeking a diagnosis, have insurance that covers routine labs, or need a throat or rectal STI screening. For those, a primary care doctor and an in-person visit is the better route.
Detailed Review of Everlywell
We scored Everlywell on the 13 criteria in our scoring criteria for online platforms. Since those criteria were originally designed for online therapy, we adapted each one to fit lab testing, such as using a range of tests instead of therapy types. Factual criteria come from Everlywell’s own pages, while experience criteria come from our checkout walk and dated user reviews. Facts were verified 28 September 2026.

Everlywell is a great fit for an adult without insurance who wants a specific marker checked, such as TSH or Vitamin D, and who is also ready to share the result with a clinician. You can also receive more private screenings for things like chlamydia and gonorrhea.
Everlywell is not a good fit if you are seeking a diagnosis, have insurance that covers routine labs, or you need a throat or rectal STI screening. For these, a primary care doctor and in-person visit is going to be the better route. Everlywell also advises against taking the Food Sensitivity Test if you have or are recovering from an eating disorder.
Tests for Stress, Mood, and Energy
While Evelywell isn’t a mental health platform, they do have tests that can help with diagnostic clarity for symptoms of anxiety, depression, and fatigue. The most common tests are the cortisol, thyroid, and vitamin D panels. They check both hormone and vitamin levels that can affect how you feel.
Cortisol & Stress Test ($99)
This test measures three hormones: cortisol, total testosterone, and TSH. Data is gathered from a finger-prick sample and a saliva sample collected four times over one day. It is rated 4.57 from 965 reviews, and the Metabolism Test shows the same markers, price and review count, so the two listings appear to be one panel under two names. Everlywell’s FAQ describes cortisol as a hormone the body releases in response to stress.
Thyroid Test ($149)
The thyroid panel checks TSH, free T3, free T4, and TPO antibodies. It also gathers data from a finger prick and is rated 4.82 from 733 reviews. It is one of the diagnostic panels, so certain abnormal results include outreach from a physician and possible treatment, in the states where Everlywell can prescribe.
Vitamin D & Inflammation Test ($99)
This panel measures 25-OH vitamin D and hs-CRP, an inflammation marker. It uses a finger prick and is rated 4.79 from 397 reviews. Everlywell says a high CRP should be confirmed with follow-up testing. There is no sleep or vitamin B12 test in the catalog at this time.
If low mood, worry, or poor sleep is why you are considering a test, a hormone result alone will not explain those. A doctor or therapist can assess them directly, and our guide to getting a depression diagnosis walks through what that involves. If you are thinking about suicide or feel unsafe, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline; for an emergency, call 911.
Everlywell Women’s Health Test
Everlywell offers an At-Home Women’s Health Test for $249. Currently, it scores a 4.62 from 512 reviews on the product page, where 93% say they would recommend it. The page lists the following 10 markers, although the catalog title advertises 11: estradiol, progesterone, LH, FSH, DHEA-S, cortisol, TSH, free T4, total testosterone, and TPO antibodies. Samples are a finger prick plus saliva, with cortisol collected four times in one day.
It’s important to know that hormonal birth control can affect the results, including hormonal IUDs, the implant, and the pill. Hormone replacement, spironolactone, and supplements such as soy, chasteberry, and DHEA can also affect results. If you are stopping hormone therapy, Everlywell advises waiting six weeks before collecting and says saliva testing can be as accurate as blood testing for hormones.
Since this is a wellness panel, no free physician consultation comes with it; Everlywell asks you to share the results with your own provider. Currently, its fertility test is out of stock and discontinued, and the perimenopause and postmenopause tests are discontinued too.
Everlywell STD Test Reviews
Most of Everlywell’s free follow-up care is attached to its sexual health tests. Its STD options fall into three groups: mail-in kits, self-run rapid tests from partner companies, and panels drawn at a Quest lab.
| Test | Price | What it covers | How it works |
| Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Test | $69 | Chlamydia, gonorrhea | Urine sample by mail |
| At-Home STD Test (5 panel) | $169 | Chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis C, syphilis, trichomoniasis | Finger prick and urine by mail |
| Trichomoniasis, Syphilis or Hepatitis C Test | $69 each | One infection | By mail |
| Visby Rapid PCR Female STD Test | $149 | Chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis | Self-run at home, result in 30 minutes |
| OraQuick At-Home HIV Test | $49 | HIV | Self-run at home, result in 20 minutes |
| STD Screening Panel, Basic | $119 | Chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, syphilis | Quest location, results in 1 to 2 days |
| STD Screening Panel, Expanded | $189 | 7 common infections | Quest location, results in 1 to 2 days |
Prices from everlywell.com, 28 September 2026.
On Everlywell’s site, the chlamydia and gonorrhea test has a 4.85 rating from 354 reviews, while the 5-panel has a 4.74 rating from 378. The 5-panel does not test for HIV or herpes. Everlywell also says a urine sample cannot detect infections in the throat, mouth, or rectum, so people with those exposure risks should see a provider.
If a chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomoniasis result is positive, a physician licensed in your state will consult with you at no extra cost and can prescribe treatment where the law allows. Prescribing is currently available in 33 jurisdictions. In Georgia, Ohio, and Vermont, the consultation must be done by video. The physician network and lab are also legally required to report certain results to state health authorities.
How Accurate Is the STD Test?
Everlywell says all of its labs are CLIA-certified, and some are CAP-accredited. Its at-home collection methods have also been validated against office testing; however, Everlywell does not publish sensitivity or specificity figures for its mail-in STD kits.
The two partner devices do publish study results. In a study of 2,293 women, Visby correctly identified 97.2% of chlamydia positives, 100% of gonorrhea positives, and 97.8% of trichomoniasis positives. It correctly identified 98.5% to 99.1% of negative results. The FDA authorized Visby in March 2025 as the first over-the-counter home test for those three infections.
In a 4,999-person study of OraQuick, 99.9% of negative results and 91.7% of positive results were correct. A positive result needs a confirmatory test. The in-person Quest panels automatically run confirmatory testing for a positive syphilis or HIV screen.
Does Everlywell Work?
Everlywell works in the sense that a certified lab measures what each panel is designed to measure, and a physician reviews the result. Almost all of the kits are laboratory-developed tests, meaning they are designed and run within a single lab and overseen by CMS under federal CLIA rules. They do not go through FDA premarket review. A 2024 FDA rule that would have regulated these tests as medical devices was struck down by a federal court in March 2025 and rescinded that September. Only the Visby and OraQuick devices have FDA authorization or approval listed on their pages.
Most Everlywell results are meant to provide information rather than a diagnosis. Everlywell says that, aside from a handful of diagnostic panels, its tests are not intended to diagnose or treat disease. It also says that a screening result by itself cannot confirm or rule out a condition. Results from different labs should be similar, but they won’t necessarily be identical, and the type of sample used can affect the result. Forum users have also described finger-prick hormone results that did not match a later blood draw at their doctor’s lab.
Is Everlywell Reliable?
Everlywell is an established company. It has been operating since 2015, uses CLIA-certified labs, names its clinical leadership, and holds HITRUST and SOC 2 certifications.
The Food Sensitivity Test
Everlywell’s Food Sensitivity Test has a 4.52 rating from 1,392 reviews on its site. It costs $199 for 96 foods or $299 for 204 foods, and measures IgG antibodies to foods.
Allergy organizations do not recommend this type of testing. Everlywell acknowledges that the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology does not support any form of food sensitivity testing. The Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology advises against using IgG testing to diagnose allergy or intolerance, and a European task force concluded that IgG4 testing is not a diagnostic tool. Everlywell’s own product page also says the test is not an allergy test and cannot detect lactose intolerance or celiac disease. A 2023 class action lawsuit over the IgG test was voluntarily dismissed that July.
Everlywell says the test is not recommended for anyone who has, or is recovering from, an eating disorder such as anorexia, bulimia, or binge eating disorder. They note eliminating foods based on the results can trigger disordered eating. If that applies to you, our guide to eating disorders and how to get help is a better starting point.
Everlywell 360 Review
Everlywell 360 costs $399 a year and includes one 83-biomarker blood panel drawn at Quest, a clinician-reviewed care plan, a biological age score, and a WellScore. Most results arrive within 9 days of the lab work.
It does not include diagnosis or treatment, and a one-to-one consultation costs extra. Everlywell 360 is HSA and FSA eligible and renews each year until you cancel. It is not available in Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, or Rhode Island.
The Ordering Experience
We went through the ordering process in a browser using the Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Test and stopped at the personal-data step. The cart showed $69 with free shipping, along with an offer to upgrade to the 5-panel for $100 more.
Checkout takes three steps: Details, Delivery, and Payment. It asks for your name, email, optional phone number, age, and state. There are also separate checkboxes for marketing and text message consent.
Once the kit arrives, you register it using the QR code on the box, collect your sample, and mail it back. If the kit is not registered or is registered incorrectly, Everlywell does not offer a refund or replacement.
For certain tests, the iPhone app can scan your blood spot card and give you instant feedback before you mail the sample.
Cost and Insurance
Everlywell’s testing kits have flat, published prices, with shipping both ways included and sales tax added at checkout.
| Test | Price |
| Cholesterol & Lipids, HbA1c, FIT colon cancer screening | $49 each |
| Testosterone; single-infection STD tests (chlamydia and gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, syphilis, hepatitis C) | $69 each |

| Food Sensitivity (96 or 204 foods) | $199 or $299 |
| Women’s Health, Men’s Health | $249 each |
| Everlywell 360 membership | $399 a year |
Prices from the everlywell.com catalog, 28 September 2026, in USD. Partner tests such as Galleri and Caris cancer screening cost more.
Everlywell does not have insurance contracts for its kits. Its thyroid, cholesterol, and vitamin D tests are the ones most often considered for partial coverage, so check your plan before ordering. HSA and FSA cards can be used for tests.
Everlywell’s separate Virtual Care Visits, which are run by OpenLoop Health, accept many major insurance plans and Medicare Advantage. They do not accept Medicare Part B or Medicaid.
Once an at-home order ships, you cannot get a refund, and unused kits cannot be returned. Everlywell will replace a kit if the order has not arrived within 10 days, the kit is damaged or incorrect, or the lab cannot process your sample. The kit also needs to reach the lab before its expiration date.
For in-person tests, you can cancel within 60 days for a refund minus a $20 fee, as long as the sample has not been drawn. If the reviewing physician determines that a test is not appropriate for you, Everlywell will refund it.
Privacy
Everlywell says it never sells health data and encrypts it with AES-256. It says results are shared only with its labs and physicians, and with state health authorities when reporting is required. Insurers do not receive them.
There is a separate consideration around website data. Everlywell’s February 2026 privacy notice says its website uses tracking pixels and shares browsing and purchase data with advertising and analytics partners. The cookie banner gives you the option to reject that tracking. If you delete your account, Everlywell says it keeps your records until federal and state retention requirements are met, which range from 7 to 20 years.
A $5 million class action settlement over Meta and Google tracking pixels on Everlywell’s site received final court approval in May 2025. Everlywell denied wrongdoing.
Alternatives to Everlywell
For most lab work, the main alternative is having a primary care doctor or clinic order the tests. If your insurance covers the labs, you can avoid paying the kit price, and the doctor ordering the tests can review the results as part of your ongoing care. The downside is having to schedule an appointment and go to a lab.
Everlywell’s in-person Quest panels return results in one to two days, and its Virtual Care Visits accept many insurance plans. If a result points to a thyroid problem, or if stress or low mood is what led you to test, take the results to a doctor or mental health clinician for a fuller assessment.
Everlywell User Reviews

Other reviewers mention AI-only chat support, slow results, kits expiring during delays, and refusals to refund unopened kits. Of the nine Trustpilot reviews posted between 29 August and 27 September 2026, eight are one-star.
There are also positive reviews. Repeat customers say the samples are easy to collect and ship and that results come back quickly. One reviewer found the results close to those from their own doctor’s lab. An uninsured reviewer in September 2026 said Everlywell cost less than a doctor’s visit, with follow-up included when a result required it.
Forum discussions show some people making diet changes based on food sensitivity results. In another case, a positive celiac screen led a user to get an endoscopy for a confirmed answer.
