Weekend retreats typically cost between $3,500 and $6,500, while online coaching sessions start at $150. Overall costs vary depending on the therapist you choose. Although insurance is not accepted, they will generate a superbill for potential reimbursement from your provider. Free consultations are available and highly recommended if you’re unsure of the type of support you need.
All therapists are licensed and certified in couples-related therapeutic methods, such as the Gottman Method. If you opt for an intensive retreat, you and your partner will be asked to provide a detailed history of your relationship through their onboarding workbook, known as The BIG BIG Book.
You may want an alternative to Couples Therapy Inc. if you’re looking for online marriage counseling, support for a non-romantic partnership, or if you’re single and looking for dating advice or how to form better relationships. Options for using insurance include Talkspace for Couples. For couples seeking therapy that is more traditional and without the cost of an expensive retreat, Regain is a solid option. For those who are looking for something less intensive Our Ritual and Our Relationship offer couples coaching for affordable rates.

Online Couples Therapy Sessions
My experience with Couples Therapy Inc. started off promising—after comparing several online platforms, I appreciated that they offer free, human-led phone consultations (not just chatbots) to guide you through your options. The consultation was professional and friendly, giving me the confidence to opt for coaching instead of a retreat. I was able to quickly book a session through their website and find a licensed therapist who specialized in our needs.
Although our initial session was canceled last minute, causing a six-day delay during a holiday week, the rescheduled appointment more than made up for it. Our therapist apologized, set clear expectations by explaining the differences between coaching and therapy, and created a safe, welcoming atmosphere. She provided valuable Gottman exercises, pinpointed key areas for improvement, and offered a helpful action plan. Overall, despite the hiccup, our experience was terrific, and I’d gladly work with her again.
In-Person Retreats
For those choosing a retreat, you and your partner will complete an in-depth onboarding workbook (The BIG BIG Book) to help your therapist tailor a treatment plan. Post-retreat, you’ll receive an online course to support your continued progress, with follow-up sessions available as needed.
Day One
On Friday, the retreat begins with warm-up exercises designed to get you comfortable and open up about the issues that led you here. You’ll have a safe space to discuss long-standing challenges without judgment. Next, you’ll participate in an oral history interview, where you share your story—from how you met to the hurdles you’ve faced together—leaving you both feeling hopeful about the future.
Day Two
Saturday kicks off with a check-in that includes a 10-minute videotaped session to capture your communication style during conflict. This exercise helps reveal how you interact during disagreements. Later, each partner will have an individual session with your therapist to share personal insights and concerns. After lunch, a collaborative feedback session will allow you to discuss clinical observations and recommendations. The day then shifts to putting your tailored treatment plan into action, with regular breaks for questions and feedback.
Day Three
On Sunday, your therapist will introduce key concepts designed to transform your relationship dynamics—from challenging patterns to building deeper intimacy. You’ll learn to express your true feelings to heal past hurts. The session will guide you in identifying your relationship’s strengths and vulnerabilities, exploring unhelpful behaviors, and discovering ways to make conflicts more constructive. This reflective process helps pinpoint any personal biases or barriers to closeness, setting the stage for lasting change.
Cost
Online coaching with Couples Therapy Inc. starts at $150 per session, though rates vary by therapist, while private weekend retreats are priced between $3,500 and $6,500. Overall costs will depend on your therapist. Each therapist charges differently according to their location and expertise. Talk to your therapist about the possibility of payment plans.

User Reviews
Most online reviews for Couples Therapy Inc. are hosted on their website and are typically hand-selected to showcase the most favorable experiences. Although these testimonials may be biased, I reviewed them to identify common themes that might help you decide if Couples Therapy Inc. is the right choice for you. Many clients appreciated the opportunity to focus solely on each other without distractions, with several noting significant improvements in their relationship after just one weekend.
However, reviews from TrustAnalytica present a contrasting perspective. These reviews highlight dissatisfaction with the assigned therapist and suggest that some users found the retreats to be both expensive and not particularly effective.

- Reviews highlight dissatisfaction toward the therapist that they were assigned and users felt like the retreats were not incredibly helpful, on top of being expensive.
Alternatives & Competitors
While Couples Therapy Inc. is a great choice for many couples looking to improve their relationships, some services will be better for some groups. Since Couples Therapy Inc. does not accept insurance, Talkspace for Couples is a better option for those wanting to use health benefits. Other less intensive options for couples coaching include Relationship Hero, but you can check out our guide on the best online marriage and couples counseling services for other options.
Best for Insurance - Talkspace for Couples
Talkspace Couples Therapy and Couples Therapy Inc. offer very different approaches to relationship support. I’ve experienced both, and what really sets them apart is their focus and delivery. Couples Therapy Inc. is all about an intensive, hands-on approach. Their immersive couples weekend retreats, for instance, provide a deep dive into your relationship and typically range between $3,500 and $6,500. They also offer online coaching sessions starting at around $150 per session, with costs varying by therapist.
On the other hand, Talkspace Couples Therapy offers a more streamlined, accessible option that even accepts insurance—making it a great choice if you’re looking for online therapy with the convenience of insurance coverage. Their subscription packages, priced around $436 a month, provide a practical and cost-effective solution for couples who value affordability and flexibility.

Pros & Cons
- Allows partners to participate from different locations
- Offers free live workshops and self-assessment tools
- Provides an option to message your therapist between sessions
- Open to all types of relationships, including non-romantic connections like co-workers, friends, and siblings
- Individual sessions are not available for separate purchase
- Session credits expire at the end of each month, regardless of usage
- Some users report that therapists may be inconsistent, with frequent cancellations or unconfirmed appointments
- The app can experience occasional technical issues
Best for Cash Pay Rates - Regain
Regain is an online couples therapy platform that differs from Couples Therapy Inc. in the same ways as Talkspace. Regain is subscription-based and includes 30-minute weekly video therapy sessions, a shared chat room with your therapist and your partner, and access to extra features, like journaling tools and group webinars. Couples Therapy Inc. encourages clients to take the intensive weekend retreat route rather than the once-a-week traditional therapy format.
Regain costs start at $260 – $400 monthly (advertised as $60-$90 weekly), with the exact upfront costs depending on your location and therapist availability. Couples Therapy Inc.’s retreats are much more expensive, but you may find a therapist on their platform that offers online coaching that is similar to Regain’s prices. Again, if you’re not ready for a subscription and you want to book multiple sessions, Regain is the right move. Couples Therapy Inc. would be better for single couples sessions or intensive retreats.

- The website and app are intuitive and easy to use

- Insurance is not accepted
- Final pricing may vary depending on your location
- Initial therapist matching is done automatically
Best for Relationship Coaching - Relationship Hero
Price: $80-$250 per session
Insurance Accepted: No
Therapy & Psychiatry: No
Relationship Hero and Couples Therapy Inc. are designed to meet different relationship support needs. Relationship Hero is an online coaching platform for individuals and couples, offering sessions via chat, video, or phone with over 100 certified coaches. With session costs ranging from $80 to $350, it delivers a flexible approach that makes it easy to access quality support—though insurance is not accepted.
In contrast, Couples Therapy Inc. takes a more intensive, hands-on approach, specializing in transformative weekend retreats and online coaching. Their immersive retreats offer a deep dive into relationship work, reflecting the premium nature of their services, while their online coaching sessions provide personalized support at a more accessible price point—with costs varying by therapist. Like Relationship Hero, Couples Therapy Inc. does not accept insurance, making each platform a distinct option depending on your needs and the level of commitment you’re ready to invest in your relationship.
