Professional Background
Donna Mac started her career as a teacher and became a therapist. However, she continues to work with children as a therapist. For the last thirteen years, Donna has been conducting individual and group therapy for adolescents for the AMITA Health Corporation at one of their therapeutic day school locations.
Donna has coached track and swimming for the Special Olympics for 2 years and for 9 years served as a summer camp director which included a large population of children for mental health issues.
As a parent, Donna has also dealt with mental issues. Two of her daughters have Autism, ADHD, Selective Mutism, and one has Tourette Syndrome. Donna’s experiences as educator, therapist, and parent lead her to write the book, “Toddlers & ADHD” as well as “Suffering in Silence: Breaking Through Selective Mutism”
