At a glance
  • QuickMD is a legitimate telehealth company. QuickMD, LLC has been registered in New Mexico since 2019, and its clinicians work through QuickMD Medical Group, P.A., an active Florida corporation with 20 active federal provider records.12
  • The BBB lists QuickMD Medical Group as not accredited and not rated, with 45 complaints in three years. Trustpilot scores QuickMD 4.3 from 1,304 reviews, and the iPhone app averages 4.83.34
  • Each addiction treatment visit costs $99 and can’t be refunded once you’ve seen a clinician, even if you leave without a prescription.5

New QuickMD patients upload a photo ID and a selfie, pay $99, and then get a video or phone call from a clinician, often on the same day. For opioid use disorder, that visit can end with a Suboxone prescription sent to a local pharmacy. QuickMD is a legitimate company. It’s a registered business with US-licensed clinicians, and we found no regulatory or court action against it as of September 2026. Users complain most about pharmacies that won’t fill telehealth Suboxone prescriptions, chat-first support, and the $99 fee not being refunded when no prescription is written. QuickMD’s homepage calls its doctors board-certified, but its own help center says the clinicians include nurse practitioners and doesn’t make that claim. For the services themselves, see our QuickMD review and our guide to QuickMD Suboxone.

Who runs QuickMD

QuickMD is made up of two legal entities, the usual setup for US telehealth companies. QuickMD, LLC runs the website and app, and its Terms of Use describe it as a non-medical business. It contracts with QuickMD Medical Group, P.A., a group of independent practices whose licensed physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants treat patients.6 Public records show QuickMD, LLC was formed in New Mexico on August 16, 2019, is listed as active, and holds branch registrations in more than 20 other states. QuickMD Medical Group, P.A. is an active Florida corporation registered in at least 14 more states, with separate medical groups in Kansas and New Jersey.1 The federal National Provider Identifier (NPI) Registry lists QuickMD, LLC and 20 QuickMD Medical Group organizations, all active.2 The founder, Dr. Talib Omer, is an emergency medicine physician with a California medical license and is listed as faculty at USC’s Keck School of Medicine. The chief medical officer, Dr. Robert Stern, works in addiction medicine. QuickMD is privately held, and we found no named investors or parent company. In September 2026, QuickMD announced a $500,000 grant from Mississippi’s Opioid Settlement Fund to fund up to 5,000 free addiction treatment visits for eligible residents.

Are QuickMD’s clinicians licensed?

QuickMD’s clinicians are licensed in the US and must be authorized to practice in the state where you are at the time of your visit. Its help center says they are medical doctors (MDs), doctors of osteopathic medicine (DOs), or nurse practitioners (NPs), depending on your state and the service. Clinicians who prescribe controlled medications such as Suboxone hold a DEA registration.7

What QuickMD says about board certification

QuickMD’s homepage says the company is staffed by US board-certified doctors.8 Its help center doesn’t match that claim. It says the clinicians include nurse practitioners as well as MDs and DOs and are not board-certified psychiatrists. It never says all of them are board-certified.4. QuickMD doesn’t publish how many of its prescribers are board-certified, so go by the help center’s description: you’ll see a licensed MD, DO, or NP.

How to check a QuickMD clinician’s license

QuickMD shows clinicians by name when you book, so you can look one up before your visit. On one day in September 2026, the Texas booking page listed about 37 named clinicians with same-day openings. QuickMD has no public directory with license numbers.Search the clinician’s name in the federal NPI Registry at npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov, which shows a provider’s credential, specialty, and license state. Then use your state medical board’s license lookup for an MD or DO, or the nursing board’s lookup for an NP, to confirm the license is active in your state.

Is QuickMD LegitScript certified?

QuickMD says it is LegitScript certified, but we couldn’t confirm that independently. The claim appears as a badge in the site footer and in both the homepage and help center text.8 LegitScript’s lookup page sat behind a CAPTCHA check when we tried it in September 2026, so you may want to click the badge and check it yourself.Telemedicine providers use LegitScript certification to show they operate safely and legally, and uncertified providers face limits on advertising with Google, Microsoft, Meta, and TikTok.9 QuickMD claims no other outside accreditation on the pages we checked.

Is QuickMD legit for Suboxone?

QuickMD is legitimate for Suboxone, and prescribing it through telehealth without an in-person visit is allowed under current federal rules. A DEA temporary extension lets registered practitioners prescribe buprenorphine for opioid use disorder by telemedicine without an in-person exam through December 31, 2026.10 A separate federal rule allows an initial six-month supply by audio-only visit after the prescriber checks the state prescription monitoring database.11 The DEA sent a final telemedicine rule for review in August 2026, and its text isn’t public yet, so the rules could change after 2026.Every new QuickMD patient has to pass ID verification, and accounts go on hold if QuickMD finds a controlled prescription from another prescriber at the same time or a missed drug screen. A prescription is never guaranteed, and QuickMD doesn’t prescribe Suboxone for pain alone.

Lawsuits, regulators and data breaches

We found no action against QuickMD or its medical group by the FTC, a state attorney general, the DEA, a state medical board, or a court as of September 28, 2026, and no reported QuickMD data breach in news coverage.

QuickMD’s BBB rating, Trustpilot score and app reviews

QuickMD has no BBB rating, while its review-site and app-store scores sit above 4 out of 5. The figures below were current on September 28, 2026.34

BBB (Quick MD Medical Group) Not rated, not accredited 45 complaints in 3 years
Trustpilot 4.3 out of 5 1,304 reviews
Apple App Store 4.83 out of 5 6,356 ratings
Google Play 4.8 out of 5 About 4,690 reviews

The BBB says it doesn’t have enough information to rate QuickMD Medical Group. Its file also carries an alert that mail to the company came back and the BBB can’t locate it. That file sits under a Los Angeles address that QuickMD still lists in its Terms of Use, while the company’s state filings list a mailing address in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. QuickMD is still operating: it updated its iPhone app on September 25, 2026.On Trustpilot, QuickMD has claimed its profile, pays for a subscription and invites customers to leave reviews. It has replied to 94% of its negative reviews.

What QuickMD users praise and complain about

Users rarely question QuickMD’s legitimacy, and most praise focuses on speed and price. Users describe getting a prescription within hours of a visit, and reviewers who take Suboxone like not having to travel to a clinic every month. The most common complaint is pharmacy trouble. Some pharmacies refuse Suboxone prescriptions from telehealth or out-of-state prescribers, and others run out of stock or transfer slowly. Users report that some chains require the prescriber to be within 50 miles of the store, a rule set by the pharmacy. Other complaints come up regularly:

  • Prescriptions that weren’t sent, or went to the wrong pharmacy.
  • Chatbot-first support that is slow to fix a prescription problem.
  • A substitute clinician changing the dose after the usual one wasn’t available.

How QuickMD handles your data

QuickMD protects health records more strictly than website data. Its Privacy Policy, updated January 20, 2026, says QuickMD will never sell your personal information or use your health information for marketing without consent.12 The help center adds that QuickMD follows 42 CFR Part 2, the federal rule that gives addiction treatment records extra protection, so those records need your written consent to be shared.13 The same Privacy Policy lets advertising partners set targeting cookies on the site, and says QuickMD may share your IP address, device ID, or other online identifiers with advertising networks. It lists Google among the ad networks whose opt-out tools apply.12 When we loaded QuickMD’s homepage from a Netherlands IP address in September 2026 without accepting cookies, an analytics script and a ZoomInfo tracking pixel still loaded. No Meta, Google Ads or TikTok pixel fired in that test, but a US visitor, or one who accepts cookies, may see more.QuickMD doesn’t record video or phone visits. You can’t have all your data deleted, because HIPAA and state laws require QuickMD to keep health records for a minimum period.

QuickMD refunds and fees

Once you’ve been seen by a QuickMD clinician, the $99 visit fee isn’t refunded, even if the clinician decides a prescription isn’t appropriate.5 QuickMD isn’t a subscription.Missed or canceled visits turn into account credits that last 12 months, and you can request a refund of a credit within 30 days of the charge. If your clinician is more than 15 minutes late, you get a full credit. A no-show or late cancellation costs $35, and a chargeback on a completed visit adds a $25 fee.

Who QuickMD suits and who should look elsewhere

QuickMD suits people with opioid use disorder who want to start Suboxone from home, can pay cash, and live where it offers addiction treatment. That’s 43 states plus Washington, DC, as of September 2026, excluding Arkansas, Hawaii, Kentucky, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, and West Virginia. It’s a weaker fit if you want insurance to pay, since QuickMD doesn’t take insurance, though it provides a visit summary you can send to your insurer for possible reimbursement. It doesn’t prescribe Adderall, other stimulants, or benzodiazepines such as Xanax, and it suggests a psychiatrist or your primary care doctor for those. It also can’t promise the same clinician every month. If QuickMD treats patients in your state, you can book a QuickMD visit and choose a named clinician before you pay.

Emergencies and crisis support

QuickMD isn’t set up for emergencies, and its Terms of Use tell you to call 911 if you think you’re having one.6 Its help center says QuickMD isn’t equipped to handle medical emergencies and tells you to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.14 The help center also lists emergency and crisis care among the services QuickMD doesn’t provide, and tells you to call 911 for overdose signs such as slowed breathing or not responding. If you’re in a mental health crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or call 911.To raise a concern about a clinician, contact QuickMD Patient Support by chat, at 1 (888) 878-4256, or at support@quick.md, and include the visit date and the clinician’s name. QuickMD doesn’t publish a formal grievance process, and you can also file a complaint with the clinician’s state licensing board. This article is for information only and is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor or licensed clinician before starting, stopping, or changing any treatment. You can see QuickMD’s same-day appointment times for your state.
