Window of Tolerance Worksheet

This window of tolerance worksheet helps you notice when stress pushes you too high or too low, with three zones, space for your signs, and ideas to bring you back.

Window of Tolerance Worksheet Overview

Your window of tolerance is the zone where you can feel stress and still think clearly. Psychiatrist Dan Siegel coined the term. Knowing your window can help you understand why stress sometimes makes your body speed up and other times makes it shut down.

This worksheet explains the three zones and helps you write down your own signs for each one. It also gives you space to list what calms you, what wakes you up, and what might widen your window over time.

In this worksheet, we’ll:

  • Explain the three zones above, inside, and below your window
  • Help you name your own signs of being above or below your window
  • Provide space to list what calms you down and what wakes you up
  • Share ideas that can help you return to your window
  • Help you pick one thing you could add to your week to widen your window
