Professional Background

Jenna Staub is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in North Carolina. She currently works as a Substance Use Therapist in a Partial Hospitalization (PHP) level of care, where she treats individuals ages 18 and older who have a primary substance use disorder diagnosis. Jenna also treats individuals with co-occurring disorders, including PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Personality Disorders, and Psychotic Disorders.

Jenna began higher education by pursuing a degree in Psychology at the University ofNorth Carolina at Chapel Hill. While studying Psychology, Jenna developed an interest in Sociology as well as writing. Throughout her experience at UNC-Chapel Hill, Jenna developed a program for children on the Autism Spectrum. This program provided free theater lessons to children to facilitate the growth of emotional, personal, and social skills. Jenna furthered her education at The University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she obtained her Master’s in Social Work, with a concentration in Substance Use Disorders. This program allowed Jenna to intern at the Department of Veterans Affairs Behavioral Health Clinic. This provided Jenna with the tools to develop clinical skills, as well as education on the intersection of military experience with homelessness, mental health, and substance use.

As a therapist, Jenna utilizes multiple therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, person-centered, and solution-focused techniques. Jenna has also done extensive research on mindfulness and believes that mindfulness and meditation provide individuals with the tools necessary to succeed in therapy. Jenna believes in meeting people where they are and strives to allow each client with the autonomy to develop a team-based approach to treatment. Jenna strives to assist clients in developing individualized plans that work for them and will allow clients to reach goals that are important to them.
