Professional Background

Julia M. Chamberlain is a licensed mental health counselor who holds a masters degree in mental health counseling as well as a health coaching certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Julia initially began working with children in 2006 at the Children’s Friend Organization in Worcester, MA as a play group therapy facilitator for children 18 months-18 years old who have lost primary caregivers. During her undergraduate work, Julia was a research assistant in 2010 to Dr. Maryna Ranskin at Tufts University, in Medford, MA where she utilized factor analysis to track reflective coping of young mothers. This work was conducted by transcribing interviews and coding significant stressors, coping skills and risk factors of adolescent parents. Additionally, Julia spent two years from 2009-2011 working at Spaulding Rehabilitation in Medford, MA as a rehab aide executing treatment plans and studying mind-body wellness post physical trauma.

Julia has spent the past 5 years providing intensive In-Home Therapy (IHT) to families on MassHealth (state health care in Massachusetts) as a liaison between inpatient hospitalization and family stabilization in the Southeastern, MA region. Julia is also an alumni board member at the Inly school, a Montessori program in Scituate, MA. Julia currently works in private practice in Hingham,MA and is the sole proprietor of Mood Therapy LLC, a private coaching practice geared towards holistic wellness.
