Professional Background
Dr. Byars completed her medical education at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences. She completed Internal Medicine internship and residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She served on active duty with the US Navy for 13 years before transferring to the Navy Reserves and joining a practice in Wilmington, DE.
She is a general internist and passionate about primary care and assisting her patients to achieve optimum health in a way that is consistent with her patient’s goals. Dr. Byars is committed to education and has worked with medical students and residents throughout her career. She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Alliance of Academic Internal Medicine and the Society of General Internal Medicine.
