Our Ritual (formerly Hey Ritual) is an online couples program that offers live sessions with licensed relationship experts. The app has extensive resources and extra activities for couples to complete between sessions. Based on its extensive features, accessibility, and ease of use, the app earned 4 out of 5 stars in our independent Our Ritual review.
Pricing for Our Ritual depends on the program type and duration, ranging from $128 – $310 monthly. Currently, Our Ritual does not accept health insurance or FSA/HSA cards, but they do offer a 14-day money-back guarantee if the user is not pleased with services and has attended at least one live video session with a relationship expert.
While Our Ritual is a wonderful platform for couples, some groups are best served by other providers and apps. Couples experiencing severe mental illness, suicidal ideations, or domestic violence should seek care elsewhere. Likewise, those looking to use health insurance for services will be best served by Talkspace for Couples. Those looking for self-guided work instead of live weekly sessions should check out the Lasting App. For even more options, read our full guide on the best online couples and marriage therapy options.

The program utilizes “Pathways” to help couples work on specific issues and topics such as communication or intimacy. In our review of Our Ritual, we were impressed with the live sessions with a relationship expert, along with the extensive library of resources and extracurricular activities. It is these key features that earned Our Ritual 4 out of 5 stars in our independent review.

Signing Up for Our Ritual
Signing up for Our Ritual and adding my partner to the program was very quick and easy. I completed the process on my smartphone and it took around 20 minutes to make an account, answer intake questions, and book our introductory call. Couples signing up for Our Ritual can expect to answer basic demographic questions about the status of their relationship, the level of commitment to the relationship, and what the goals of starting the program are. You can easily add your partner by supplying their email address and phone number.
Pathways
Couples who sign up for Our Ritual have several options when it comes to program type and length. The length of subscriptions ranges from one to six months, with the ability to work on as many pathways as needed in that time frame. Pathways are a series of videos, quizzes, journaling exercises, and activities that focus on one specific issue or topic. Each Pathway takes around 1-2 months to complete, with couples typically seeing improvements within the first month, according to Our Ritual.
Live Therapy Sessions
Alongside the self-guided activities within the Our Ritual app, there are also live video sessions with a relationship expert. Our Ritual states that the relationship experts on the platform are usually psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers. Each plan – regardless of the program type or length – includes weekly 1:1 video sessions with the expert that cover and review that week’s topics and exercises.
Users can attend a weekly 40-minute session or split it into two 20-minute sessions. This format provides a more structured and goal-oriented approach compared to the longer sessions typical in traditional couples therapy. Both my husband and I found that the shorter sessions not only worked better for our busy schedules but that it felt more effective and goal-oriented than other programs or therapy sessions.
My husband and I personally attended several sessions with our relationship expert and found her to be very empathetic and understanding. I personally found her to be one of the better clinicians that I have worked with throughout my own mental health journey.
We started our pathway – Foundations of Connections – with a brief introductory call to discuss our relationship dynamics, what brought us to Our Ritual, our goals, and to ask any questions. Our next session was scheduled for 2 weeks out, giving us plenty of time to work on the activities needed for the second session.
Relationship Expert Matching
When initially signing up for Our Ritual, users do not have the option to select their relationship expert. Couples are matched based on intake responses but can request a different therapist by contacting Our Ritual’s support team.
Extra Features
One of the major factors when considering the rating for Our Ritual was the access to extra features and resources. The app has a great selection of educational videos on various topics such as The Art of Sharing Daily Living with Your Partner. Users also have access to quizzes and journal prompts.
Cost & Plan Options
Our Ritual costs between $128 – $310 monthly, depending on the program type and program length chosen. Currently, there is no free trial for services, but Our Ritual does offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for anyone who is not satisfied with services. To qualify for the refund, users must have attended at least one session with a relationship expert and be within the 14-day timeframe.
The program options for Our Ritual include access to all of the available Pathways and weekly live video sessions with a relationship expert. The available plans for Our Ritual include:

Alternatives & Competitors
While Our Ritual is a valuable resource for many couples, some may find other platforms better suited to their needs. Those looking to use insurance for couples therapy may prefer Talkspace for Couples, while couples seeking a less intensive coaching approach might benefit from Our Relationship. For those who want a self-guided app experience rather than therapy, the Lasting App is a great alternative.
Best for Couples Coaching - Our Relationship
Our Ritual and Our Relationship both offer structured relationship support, but they serve different audiences. While each platform provides guided programs, Our Ritual connects couples with a licensed therapist, whereas Our Relationship relies on coaching from professionals who are not licensed therapists.
Pricing models also set the two apart. Our Relationship uses a one-time payment structure, costing between $79 and $249, making it a more cost-effective option for couples looking for a defined program with a clear beginning and end. On the other hand, Our Ritual operates on a subscription basis, with monthly fees ranging from $128 to $310. This approach is ideal for those seeking continuous support, self-reflection tools, and additional personal growth resources.
