At a glance

  • Healthie’s four self-serve plans cost $19.99, $49.99, $129.99, and $149.99+ a month when billed monthly. Annual billing brings those prices down to $18, $45, $115, and $135+ a month, paid upfront. Enterprise pricing is available by quote.
  • Core allows 10 active clients and Essentials allows 250. Plus and Group include unlimited clients. Group starts with one provider and one support seat, with each additional provider costing $50 a month.
  • Add-ons can raise the actual cost. AI Charting costs $35 a month, e-prescribing costs $40 per prescriber, Claim.MD plans start at $30 according to its own price list, and card processing costs 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Healthie’s fees are non-refundable, including annual plans.

Healthie is an electronic health record and practice-management platform for dietitians, health coaches, therapists, and virtual-care companies. It combines scheduling, documentation, telehealth, payments, and a client app.

Healthie’s lowest plan starts at $19.99 a month, which makes it relatively inexpensive for a solo provider with a small caseload. The pricing changes considerably once you need unlimited clients, multiple clinicians, insurance billing, e-prescribing, or other add-ons.

As a group practice owner, I would not evaluate an EHR based on its starting price alone. I would price out the version of the platform my practice would actually use. Provider seats, billing tools, payment-processing fees, documentation features, and administrative access can turn a reasonably priced base plan into a much larger monthly expense.

Healthie’s prices in this article are current as of September 25, 2026.

Healthie’s pricing plans in 2026

Core, Essentials, and Plus are designed for solo providers. Adding a second clinician or an administrative seat requires moving to Group. Enterprise is intended for larger clinics, health systems, and startups and is priced by quote.

Core $19.99 $18 10 Scheduling, charting, individual telehealth, payments, client portal, and mobile app
Essentials $49.99 $45 250 Superbills and CMS 1500s, custom forms, data transfer support, group and blast messaging
Plus $129.99 $115 Unlimited Group telehealth and webinars on HIPAA-compliant Zoom, online programs, inbound and outbound eFax, advanced reporting
Group $149.99+ $135+ Unlimited One provider and one support seat, $50 per extra provider, shared calendar, roles and permissions
Enterprise Quote Quote Not published API and white-label options, custom reporting, a dedicated success manager

EHR platform features on each plan

Even Healthie’s lowest-priced plan includes many of the features a solo practitioner needs for everyday practice management.

Core includes online scheduling, invoicing and card payments, intake forms, one-to-one video, smart-fill charting, secure messaging, a client portal and mobile app, food and lifestyle journaling, care plans, unlimited SMS reminders, and unlimited document storage.

What Core does not include are superbills or CMS 1500 claim forms. Essentials adds both, along with custom forms, data transfer support, and group and blast messaging. Support for Core and Essentials is provided through chat and email.

Plus adds group video and webinars through a Zoom account supplied by Healthie at no additional charge. It also includes online programs, a dedicated inbound fax line, self-pay lab ordering through Quest, LabCorp, and BioReference, direct Office Ally integration, and video support.

Healthie’s pricing table also lists AI Charting and e-prescribing add-ons starting at the Plus level.

Group adds features that become more important when multiple people are working inside the same practice, including a shared calendar, user roles, internal chat, care teams, and one-to-one sessions with a customer success manager.

For a group practice, I would pay close attention to permissions and administrative access. A platform can have plenty of clinical features and still create unnecessary work if a biller, administrator, or operations staff member cannot access what they need without using a clinician seat.

Monthly vs. annual billing

Paying annually saves about 10% on most Healthie plans and 11.5% on Plus.

Over one year:

  • Core costs $239.88 when paid monthly or $216 annually, saving $23.88.
  • Essentials costs $599.88 monthly or $540 annually, saving $59.88.
  • Plus costs $1,559.88 monthly or $1,380 annually, saving $179.88.
  • The Group base costs $1,799.88 monthly or $1,620 annually, also saving $179.88.

The savings are straightforward, but the commitment matters. Healthie’s annual plans are non-refundable if you leave before the year ends.

If you’re new to Healthie, monthly billing may be worth the additional cost while you determine whether the platform actually fits your workflow. Saving $179.88 over a year matters less if you discover after two months that the EHR does not work for your practice and cannot recover the remaining annual fee.

Upgrades take effect immediately with a prorated charge and change your billing date. Downgrades take effect during the next billing period.

What a group practice pays per seat

Healthie’s Group plan starts at $149.99 a month and includes one provider seat and one support seat.

Each additional provider costs $50 a month and comes with another free support seat.

That brings the monthly base price to:

  • 2 providers: $199.99
  • 3 providers: $249.99
  • 5 providers: $349.99
  • 10 providers: $599.99

Support seats can message clients and schedule sessions for other users, but they cannot maintain their own caseload or calendar. That makes them more appropriate for front-desk staff or billers than clinicians.

Seats added during a billing cycle are prorated. Group customers must contact Healthie to make subscription changes.

For a three-provider practice, the base cost is $249.99 a month. Adding AI Charting brings the total to $284.99 because its 40 hours are shared across providers.

Adding e-prescribing for all three providers instead brings the monthly cost to $369.99. Using both AI Charting and e-prescribing brings the total to $404.99.

With annual billing, the Group base covering the first provider is $135 a month.

This is where I would run the numbers based on the practice you expect to have, not just the practice you have today. A $50 provider seat may not seem significant when adding one clinician, but it becomes $450 a month in additional provider fees by the time you have 10 clinicians.

Healthie add-on prices

Healthie’s terms state that it may charge fees not shown on its public pricing page for processing, setup, and special services. Those charges are communicated during setup or within the product.1

AI Charting

AI Charting costs $35 a month for 40 hours of AI Scribe on Plus and higher plans.

Unused hours roll over for one month, and additional usage costs $0.85 an hour. Plus and Group accounts receive a seven-day free trial.

For a group practice, one advantage is that the 40 hours are shared across providers rather than requiring a separate $35 subscription for every clinician.

E-prescribing

E-prescribing through DoseSpot costs $40 per provider per month with no setup fee.

Electronic prescribing of controlled substances, or EPCS, costs another $20 per provider per month after approval, bringing the total to $60.

Healthie’s own pages are inconsistent about which customers can purchase EPCS. Its pricing table lists it as a Group add-on, while the e-prescribing FAQ and EPCS help article describe it as Enterprise-only.2

If EPCS is important to your practice, confirm eligibility with Healthie before choosing a plan based on that feature.

Inbound fax

Outbound faxing is included with every Healthie plan.

A dedicated inbound fax line comes with Plus and higher plans. Core and Essentials users can add one for $9.99 a month.

Card processing

Healthie processes payments through its Stripe setup and charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. HSA and FSA cards are included, and Healthie says the rate is not negotiable.

International cards and currency conversion each add 1%, which is charged to the client.

ACH bank payments are not supported. When you issue a refund, the processing fee is now absorbed by the practice rather than returned.3

Payment-processing fees are easy to overlook because they are not part of the subscription price. For a practice collecting a significant amount of private-pay revenue, they can cost considerably more than the EHR itself.

Switching in

Paid plans include a one-time import of client demographic information from another EHR.

If your previous platform charges an export fee, however, you are responsible for paying it.

When switching EHRs, I would also confirm exactly what “data import” includes. Demographic information is different from transferring complete clinical records, signed documents, billing history, treatment plans, and other information you may need to retain.

What insurance billing costs on Healthie

Healthie includes superbills and paper-ready CMS 1500 forms with Essentials and higher plans at no additional cost.

Electronic claims, eligibility checks, and ERAs are handled through Claim.MD, with the clearinghouse charges appearing on your Healthie invoice.

There is some inconsistency in Healthie’s own information about which plans support Claim.MD.

The Essentials plan card and Healthie’s integration help article, updated September 3, 2026, say Claim.MD is available on Essentials and above. However, the feature table on the same pricing page marks the feature only for Plus and Group.

Healthie’s help article says it does not add fees to Claim.MD’s own pricing.4

There are also conflicting prices. The plan card says Claim.MD starts at $30 a month, while the integrations section farther down the page says it starts at $25 a month plus a $50 to $100 setup fee.

Claim.MD’s own March 2026 pricing lists:

  • Basic at $30 a month with no transactions included
  • Small Volume at $60 for 100 claims, ERAs, and eligibility checks
  • Unlimited at $120
  • No setup fee

Our Claim.MD review explains the clearinghouse in more detail.

If Claim.MD is available with Essentials, a solo practitioner using Claim.MD Basic would pay $79.99 a month before transaction fees. Small Volume would bring the total to $109.99.

If Healthie requires Plus, the Basic total would instead be $159.99.

Healthie recommends setting up Claim.MD through its platform because opening an account directly with Claim.MD first may result in double billing.

For an insurance-based practice, I would clarify these costs before signing up rather than assuming the feature table is correct. Claims, ERAs, eligibility, and secondary billing are ongoing workflows, so even a small pricing or access difference can affect the practice every month.

Refunds, cancellation and leaving Healthie

Healthie’s fees are non-refundable, including annual contracts. A canceled annual plan remains active through day 365.3

Monthly subscriptions do not require a contract and stop billing after cancellation, but Healthie does not refund unused days. Its terms also require payment regardless of whether you actually log in or use the service.

Cancellation is self-service through Settings. You retain access until the end of the billing period.

Before canceling, export or transfer any client information you need to keep. Healthie says it cannot export or transfer client data once the account has been canceled.5

Clients also cannot be permanently deleted, and their Healthie accounts remain active after the provider leaves. Reactivating the provider account restores the client data.

For a healthcare practice, I would treat data export as one of the first steps in an EHR transition rather than the last. Before canceling, confirm that you have retained the clinical, billing, administrative, and other records your practice needs and that you can access them in a usable format.

Ways to pay less for Healthie

Healthie’s 14-day trial uses the Plus plan and does not require a credit card. You can cancel at any time, and Healthie sends a reminder email three days before the trial ends.

Healthie no longer has a free plan. It discontinued its $0 Starter plan in 2025, introduced Core at $19 by October 2025, and reached its current prices by March 2026.

As of September 25, 2026, Healthie did not advertise a promo code, seasonal sale, nonprofit rate, or student discount. Our link goes to its standard pricing page.

The simplest way to spend less is to avoid paying for a higher tier before you need it.

A practitioner with 10 or fewer active clients can use Core. Someone who needs superbills but not group video can stay on Essentials rather than moving to Plus.

How Healthie’s prices compare with Practice Better, SimplePractice and Jane

Prices were checked on each company’s own website on September 25, 2026.

Healthie has the lowest paid entry price. Core costs $19.99 a month, compared with $35 for Practice Better Starter, $49 for SimplePractice Starter, and $54 for Jane Balance. Practice Better also offers a free Sprout plan for up to three clients.

Healthie Essentials at $49.99 is $19.01 less than Practice Better Professional and $29.01 less than SimplePractice Essential and Jane Practice.

E-prescribing for one clinician costs $480 during the first year on Healthie. The comparable first-year cost is $687 on Practice Better and $677 on SimplePractice because both charge setup fees.

The comparison changes once you need unlimited clients or multiple clinicians.

Healthie Plus costs $129.99, which is $30.99 more per month than the $99 top solo tiers at Practice Better, SimplePractice, and Jane. That difference adds up to $371.88 over one year.

Healthie Plus does include group Zoom. Jane charges $15 per practitioner for group video.

For three full-time clinicians, Healthie costs $249.99 compared with $205 on Practice Better Team, $247 on SimplePractice, and $149 to $179 on Jane.

AI notes start at $10 a month on Practice Better and cost $15 for unlimited notes on Jane. SimplePractice includes unlimited clients and its Insurance Essentials tools with every plan starting at $49.

When comparing EHR prices for a group practice, I would build the comparison around the same hypothetical practice. Use the same number of clinicians, administrative users, claims, payment volume, and add-ons for every platform. Comparing only the advertised starting prices can make one platform appear much cheaper than it will actually be for your practice.

For more detail on features, see our Practice Better review and SimplePractice review.

Cost per session and who Healthie suits

For a solo practitioner providing 40 sessions per month, the subscription works out to approximately:

  • $0.50 per session on Core
  • $1.25 per session on Essentials
  • $3.25 per session on Plus

Those numbers do not include add-ons.

Payment processing may have a larger effect on total costs. If all 40 sessions are paid by card at $120 each, Stripe processing costs $151.20 a month, which is three times the price of the Essentials subscription.

Capterra’s 124 reviews give Healthie a 4.4 out of 5 overall rating and 4.2 for value for money.6 Reviewers frequently praise its value for solo practices because many core tools are bundled into one subscription.

Recurring complaints include costs increasing as providers are added, the elimination of the free tier, and email-first support.

Healthie may be a good value for a solo dietitian, coach, or therapist with up to 250 clients who primarily uses cash payments or superbills. Plus adds more value for providers running group classes, webinars, or online programs.

A solo practice that needs unlimited clients without group video, or a practice with three or more clinicians, may pay less with Practice Better, SimplePractice, or Jane.

From a practice-owner perspective, I would consider cost per clinician and cost per session alongside the monthly subscription. An EHR is infrastructure. If it saves administrative time, makes billing easier, and reduces the number of separate tools you’re paying for, a higher subscription can still be the less expensive choice overall.

The Healthie review covers the platform beyond pricing.
