Professional Background

Abigail has worked in the online publishing industry since 2015 in a variety of positions, with a focus on mental health content for the past five years. The throughline of her work involves optimizing content for the internet, from large-scale branding strategy to on-page optimization to general editing. With an eye for detail, Abigail is passionate about em dashes and the Oxford comma.

Psychology has been an area of interest for Abigail since high school, and she’s been involved in the therapy world in a more formal manner for the past five years. She began as the sole editor for ChoosingTherapy.com in 2020 and is now a passionate member of the reviews team. Therapy has served a pivotal role in Abigail’s personal life, and she believes creating content that helps people start their mental health journeys is incredibly meaningful.

When not at work or in therapy, Abigail is a deep lover of music, both consuming and creating.

Why I Write for Choosing Therapy

I write for Choosing Therapy because finding the right mental healthcare was so deeply impactful in my own life, both through therapy and medication. Helping other people access similarly life-changing care is a meaningful and worthy pursuit! There is a lack of information out there about many of these online services, so I’m passionate about bringing clarity to those interested in trying them out and removing any barriers they may have in getting started.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Music, Thomas Edison State University, 2016.
