For some, faith in a higher power can be very rewarding for their mental health. They may find comfort in passages from the Bible or rely on their faith to get them through difficult times. These Bible verses are perfect for those looking to soothe anxious thoughts or find relief after an anxiety spiral, taken from the New Living Translation.

1. Proverbs 12:25

Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

2. Romans 8:38-39

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not 34even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

3. Mattews 6:27

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

4. Psalm 34:17

The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.

5. Psalm 55:22

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.

6. Psalm 91:2

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.

7. Psalm 37:5

Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

8. Ephesians 3:17

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.

9. 2 Corinthians 5:17

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

10. 2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.

13. Matthew 11:29

Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

14. Matthew 6:33

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

15. Matthew 6:34

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

16. Matthew 11:28

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

17. Luke 12:25-26

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?

18. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.

19. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

20. Colossians 3:15

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
