Is your relationship lifting you up, or slowly wearing you down?

Toxic relationship patterns can develop gradually, making them hard to see until they start affecting your mental health and self-esteem. This quiz helps you reflect on how a relationship may be influencing your emotional well-being and where you might need clearer boundaries or support.

For each question, choose the option that feels most true for your experience with the relationship you are questioning.
After spending time with this person, do you feel emotionally drained, tense, or exhausted?

Do you doubt your worth or value because of how this person treats or speaks to you?

Do you feel unhappy, anxious, or uneasy in this relationship?

Do you feel like you have to be overly careful about what you say or do to avoid upsetting them?

Have you lost interest in your own goals, hobbies, or sense of self because of this relationship?

Does this person criticize, mock, or belittle you?

Is there a pattern of distrust, suspicion, or checking up on one another?

Does this person try to control your time, choices, or who you spend time with?

Have you become more isolated or lost touch with friends or family because of this relationship?

Do they turn things around to make you feel to blame for their actions or the relationship’s problems?

Do they deny things they’ve said or done, or make you question your own memory or feelings (gaslighting)?

When they are upset with you, do they make emotional threats (like leaving you, hurting themselves, lying to others about you)?

Does this person struggle to show empathy or validate your emotions?

Does the relationship feel full of conflict, drama, or tension rather than peace or support?

Are your boundaries dismissed, ignored, or mocked?

In general, do you feel nervous or anxious before seeing or communicating with this person?

Do you find yourself apologizing even when you haven’t done anything wrong?

During discussions, do they seem defensive, manipulative, or unwilling to take accountability for their actions?

Do you feel your needs and opinions are dismissed or minimized?

Have you thought about ending or distancing yourself from this relationship, but feel guilty, afraid, or unsure how?
