Mental Health Care With Circle Medical
Circle Medical offers virtual appointments with board-certified primary care providers (MDs, DOs, NPIs, and PAs) trained to diagnose and treat common mental health conditions. Initial appointments involve questionnaires and assessments, followed by personalized treatment plans and referrals to therapy as needed. Costs vary based on insurance coverage, with uninsured patients paying $120 per video appointment.
Most conditions—but especially ADHD—will likely require multiple appointments for comprehensive diagnostics. Similarly, some conditions may require a physical exam or proof of one within the last year. Circle providers take considerable time to assess sensitive cases, particularly if they are considering prescribing medication.
My impression of Circle ADHD treatment was mixed. The initial intake process through the app was smooth and user-friendly, with frequent reminders and easy information updates (especially helpful for my ADHD tendencies). While the platform doesn’t offer personalized provider matching, it does include bios and photos for each provider, giving patients the ability to choose someone who feels like a good fit.
I experienced some technical issues when trying to join my session from a computer, which suggests the platform works best on a mobile device. Although my provider was about ten minutes late, they communicated the delay, and we were still able to have a productive and collaborative session. It’s worth noting that Circle Medical doesn’t offer an immediate diagnosis during the first appointment, as they emphasize a thorough and thoughtful evaluation process.
Note: If you end up getting a prescription for a controlled substance (such as Adderall for ADHD), CVS Pharmacy will not fill controlled substance prescriptions from Circle Medical.

With over 400 board-certified providers, Circle Medical ensures a thorough assessment of your health status and collaborates with you to develop a personalized plan. It goes beyond traditional annual check-ups, providing same-day blood work orders and detailed reviews of medical history with a focus on preventive health and wellness.
Sexual Wellness
Circle Medical also offers care for erectile dysfunction (ED), STIs, and other sexual health conditions for both women and men. While I didn’t specifically work with this side of Circle Medical’s care, this option is very useful for those who would prefer to discuss sexual health and receive treatment from the privacy of their own home.
Weight Loss
In addition to its primary care and behavioral health offerings, Circle Medical provides care for weight loss. Many of Circle Medical’s doctors are trained in behavior change and nutrition to help you achieve the weight loss goals most conducive to your overall health. When deemed appropriate, Circle Medical is able to prescribe weight loss medications such as semaglutide, Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, and others. However, they tend to focus on positive lifestyle and behavioral changes first.
Sleep & Insomnia
Circle Medical also offers a dedicated program for insomnia, starting with a sleep evaluation, and likely an at-home sleep study (when appropriate). Your provider will go over a range of non-medication solutions, though, when appropriate, the provider may prescribe a sleep aid medication.
Women’s Health
Circle Medical offers Women’s Health. Services encompass birth control prescriptions, STD/STI testing and treatment, UTI antibiotic treatment, vaginal and yeast infection diagnosis and treatment, menstrual disorder management, family planning, menopause care, breast cancer screening, and hormone replacement therapy. The ability to meet with a doctor virtually for issues like UTIs or yeast infections seems particularly beneficial, providing quick access to diagnosis and treatment.
Gender Affirming Care
Gender affirming care is also available through Circle Medical, with affirming providers who can prescribe feminizing hormones such as estradiol, progesterone, or hormone blockers, or masculinizing hormones like testosterone. People using this service can expect a 30-minute intake appointment, a 2-week follow-up, and then check-in appointments every three months.

Circle Medical costs vary depending on the appointment type, with out-of-network expenses for mental health sessions ranging from $120–$179 per session. Meanwhile, those with an in-network insurance plan can expect to pay a fraction of that, depending on their exact coverage.
There are no membership or annual fees, but late cancellations or no-shows cost $50 per session missed, and rescheduling an appointment within 12 hours could incur the same $50 fee. Payment is due at the time of service, and while Circle Medical accepts FSA or HSA funds for mental health services, CareCredit is not currently accepted.
