What Is Asana Rebel?
The Asana Rebel app provides over a hundred different yoga-inspired workouts, several meditations, and nutritional recipes. There are also exercise challenges that encourage users to participate in multi-day programs targeting specific goals. An Asana Rebel subscription costs $15.99 monthly or $35.99 annually with no free trial.
Asana Rebel provides a structured daily plan for new members. The onboarding survey is much more comprehensive than other yoga apps, such as Glo or Alo Moves. Asana Rebel will ask for your height, weight, dietary habits, and goals. Every day when you open the app, you’ll begin on your “Today” tab, which shows you your weekly progress, the upcoming class in your curated program, daily mindfulness tips, and a healthy recipe recommendation. The “Today” tab also includes a weigh-in reminder and water intake tracker, which are helpful tools for monitoring your hydration and weight goals.
All of the workout classes are composed of yoga poses and there’s a beginner’s path that includes yoga basics, like vinyasa or warrior foundations, which is why Asana Rebel earned 5 out of 5 stars in our Beginners category in our scoring criteria for yoga apps. However, you can’t search for a specific type of yoga, such as Kundalini or Ashtanga. Instead, the classes are titled with an intention versus a style of yoga. For example, you’ll find classes titled “Energy Booster” or “Core Strength,” not Ashtanga Basics or Hatha Flow.
You’ll find an “Explore” tab at the bottom of the screen that brings you to the main filter tool. You can choose to explore “Exercises,” “Challenges,” “Meditations,” “Sleep Meditations,” “Nutrition,” and “Music for Focus.” There’s a search field above these sections to explore the entire app for specific topics, like “beginners classes” or “core strengthening.” Unfortunately, once you click on a key feature, such as Exercise, you can only narrow your search with the keywords provided at the top. For instance, when choosing Exercise, you’ll see filter options like “Recommended,” “Favorites,” “Short Workouts,” and “Balance and Focus,” which makes the filter tool a bit limited.
The Asana Rebel app also tracks your progress through various metrics. Under the “Activity” tab, there’s a calendar with green circles on the days you completed exercises or meditations. You can also see a breakdown of how many hours/minutes you’ve exercised or the number of sessions you completed. Asana Rebel also pairs with the Apple Watch, which helps you keep track of your heart rate and calories burned in each class. With the activity monitoring, weigh-ins, and challenges, Asana Rebel does a great job of encouraging users to commit to their program.
Who Is the Asana Rebel App Right For?
The Asana Rebel app would be valuable for anyone who wants a highly structured health and fitness routine and needs motivation to stay on track. It’s also a great choice for those who want access to mindfulness tools or want the benefits of a gym membership without going to a gym.
Structure and Motivation
Because Asana Rebel builds a comprehensive daily plan that includes workouts, meditations, and even healthy recipe suggestions, it’s the perfect app for anyone who needs a structured health and fitness routine. The app also motivates users to commit to the program by using simple tools for engagement. For instance, the water intake tracker encouraged me to open the app every day to monitor my hydration. While it can’t do the workout for you, it certainly motivates you to use tools that can help you transform your health.
Supplement Fitness with Mindfulness
With such a strong focus on fitness, I was a bit surprised that Asana Rebel had some great meditations and mindfulness tips. Each day you’ll see a new meditation recommendation and mindfulness tip on your Daily Plan. An example of a mindfulness tip would be “creating to-do lists” with an explanation of the benefits of prioritizing your day. There are also excellent sleep meditations to help you relax the mind and body at the end of the day.
A Gym Without Going to a Gym
Today, a typical gym membership provides various workout classes and personal trainers to tailor your exercises and nutritional choices. Asana Rebel does a wonderful job of hitting those marks, and you don’t even have to leave the house! If you’re the type of person who’s interested in gym membership perks but is resistant to joining a gym, the Asana Rebel app would be a perfect fit.
Who May Want an Alternative to Asana Rebel?
Asana Rebel proves to be a terrific app for fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious people, but it’s not for everyone. If you’re hoping to take a deep dive into yoga, learn what it means, or experiment with classic yoga disciplines, you may want an alternative. Asana Rebel focuses on getting in shape and losing weight, so it’s not a good fit for anyone who’s turning to yoga for emotional or mental wellness.
Learn About Yoga
As mentioned above, Asana Rebel provides yoga-inspired exercises, but it’s not equivalent to taking a traditional yoga class. You’ll learn yoga fundamentals, like warrior foundations and breathwork, but it doesn’t label its classes by yoga styles, and you can’t choose to practice a specific yoga discipline, like Ashtanga, Kundalini, or Hatha. If you’re curious about what yoga is, want to learn to chant, understand Sanskrit terms, and explore its history, you may want to try Gaia or Yoga International. To learn more about these alternatives, check out our Gaia yoga review and our Yoga International review.
You’re Not Focused on Weight
Asana Rebel is one of the few yoga apps that ask for a user’s height, current weight, and goal weight. This makes it a great choice for those focused on losing weight, but not a good match for those who are turning to yoga for mental and emotional self-care. If you’re interested in incorporating yoga into your life because you want to experience more positive thinking, reduce stress, sleep better, or boost your mood, the Find What Feels Good app would be a better option. FWFG is more about creating a mind and body balance than losing weight. To learn more about this alternative, check out our Find What Feels Good review.

What Users Are Saying About the Asana Rebel App
Asana Rebel has 4.7 stars from 68.7K reviews from the Apple App Store and 4.6 stars from 71.7K reviews from the Google Play Store. Many of the users reported loving challenges and curated programs for beginners. However, several reviewers complained about problems with the auto-renewal program and issues canceling subscriptions.
Great for Beginners
Asana Rebel receives many rave reviews from users attempting to commit to a workout routine for the first time. There’s a lot of structure and additional support through nutritional guides and mindfulness tools, which makes it a holistic approach to good health. Several reviewers mentioned that they enjoy waking up in the morning and not having to think about what they need to do. They just follow their Daily Plan while the app monitors their progress. I also found the beginner’s path to be clear and easy to follow, which is why Asana Rebel earned 5 out of 5 stars in the “Beginners” category of our scoring rubric.
Love the Challenges
There were many positive reviews about the challenges that target specific goals, like losing weight or building core muscles. Reviewers mentioned that choosing “accept the challenge” helped them stay committed to the curated program. In addition, many stated that finishing the challenges was rewarding and produced real results.
Issues with the Auto Subscription Renewal
Unfortunately, a lot of Apple and Android users reported having issues with Asana Rebel’s subscriptions being auto-renewed after canceling. Thankfully, there were quite a few that followed up to say that customer service resolved the issue and provided refunds to those who canceled within the appropriate time frame.
Toss Up on Duration of Classes
Many reviewers mentioned the duration of the classes, which mainly range between 10 – 30 minutes. About half of the reviewers who discussed duration loved that the classes were short because they helped them fit high-intensity workouts into their busy schedules. However, many other reviewers thought the classes were too short and wished Asana Rebel had offered 60 – 90 minutes classes to help them work up a sweat and spend more time getting into a yoga flow.
How Much Does an Asana Rebel Subscription Cost?
Asana Rebel costs $15.99 monthly or $35.99 annually. They currently do not offer a free trial. However, users can submit a request for a refund if they are not satisfied with the app within the first 14 days.
How To Get Started With Asana Rebel

- Visit the Asana Rebel website

Asana Rebel App Key Features
The Asana Rebel app provides a variety of tools that help users commit to a health and fitness routine. It includes yoga-inspired workouts, meditations, mindfulness tips, and nutritional recipes. An Asana Rebel subscription costs $15.99 monthly or $35.99 annually. There is no free trial, but you can receive a full refund if you cancel your subscription within 14 days.
Daily Plan that Tracks Progress
The primary feature of Asana Rebel is the Daily Plan which provides a list of workouts, mindfulness tips, a nutritional recipe, suggested music for focus and meditation, and tracking tools to help you monitor weight and water intake. Asana Rebel builds your Daily Plan from the answers provided in your onboarding process about your body type, diet, and goals.
I felt the Daily Plan was incredibly helpful because it designs a health and fitness program for you instead of you creating one on your own. Unfortunately, you can’t adjust the Daily Plan once it’s generated, but you can go off the Daily Plan path by using the search tools to find other exercise classes, food suggestions, or meditations that fit your current goals or mood. You’ll also see a new quiz question in the Daily Plan each day that asks about health topics, like naming a yoga pose or choosing the best food option out of a multiple-choice list.
Asana Rebel does a great job of tracking your progress in various ways. As you complete each class in your Daily Plan, you “collect a green dot” that appears on your Activity calendar. You can also view things like how many minutes you meditated in a week or how many classes you completed in a month. I found the ability to track my activities and progress very helpful and motivating. It bugged me when I missed a workout, and there was a missing green dot on my calendar. These gamification techniques are simple but powerful when it comes to staying on track.
Yoga-Inspired Classes
While Asana Rebel is considered a yoga app, it’s important for potential users to understand that the workouts are yoga-inspired but not classic yoga routines. This means that Asana Rebel’s classes include a collection of yoga poses from various styles, but you can’t search for a specific style such as Hatha or Ashtanga.
At first, I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t find a traditional class. However, I did enjoy the classes in my Daily Plan and thought the instructors were excellent. Unfortunately, Asana Rebel does not have an extensive library of classes as with other apps, like Glo or Yoga International, so long-term members may find themselves repeating the same classes over and over again. Some users may prefer the consistency, while others may look to other apps to keep their workout fresh. Because Asana Rebel does not have a substantial library of classes in comparison to other yoga apps, it earned 3 out of 5 stars in the “Variety and Volume of Content” category of our scoring rubric.
Mindfulness Tools
Asana Rebel has several mindfulness tools that can help you create the mind-body balance you want in a yoga app. There are guided meditations, sleep meditations, and a collection of music for focus. The daily mindfulness tips are evidence-based and include simple actions you can take to make a positive impact on your daily life. For instance, one tip was reminding me to smile more and celebrate small accomplishments. The tip includes a short summary explaining why it’s important, how it works, and ways to help you incorporate it into your life.

Asana Rebel Vs Competitors
While many users love Asana Rebel, it’s always a good idea to review a head-to-head comparison with other similar apps. Below you’ll find more information on how Asana Rebel matches up with Glo and Alo Moves
Asana Rebel Vs Glo
Asana Rebel and Glo are both terrific health and fitness apps that provide a lot of structure for users to help them meet personal goals, and Glo received an overall of 5 out of 5 stars in our independent review. Glo has a larger video library and offers live classes. Glo costs $30.00 monthly or $245.00 annually, making it more expensive than Asana Rebel, but Glo members get more with the higher price. In addition, Glo offers a free trial, and Asana Rebel does not.
Another distinct difference between Asana Rebel and Glo is that Glo offers classic yoga styles like Ashtanga, Hatha, and Kundalini, while Asana Rebel’s workouts are simply yoga-inspired. They’re both great fitness apps for beginners and advanced users, but Glo is a better option for those who’d like to focus on traditional yoga routines and take advantage of live yoga classes. To learn more, check out our in-depth Glo review.
Asana Rebel Vs Alo Moves
Alo Moves earned an overall star rating of 4.5 out of 5 from our independent review. Asana Rebel and Alo Moves have a lot of similarities. Both apps have sleek and elegant designs, workout videos are shot in beautiful locations, and they both have strong mindfulness components. However, Alo Moves is more expensive than Asana Rebel, but like Glo, Alo Moves has a much bigger library of workouts. Alo Moves costs $12.99 monthly or $129.99 annually and comes with a 14-day free trial.
Alo Moves also has more mindfulness tools. There are sound baths, guided meditations, and sleep meditations, also called yoga nidra. They also have tutorials on personal growth and inspiring talks from yoga and mindfulness instructors. Asana Rebel incorporates mindfulness into their program with daily tips and meditations, but it’s not as substantial as Alo Moves. Alo Moves would be the better fit for those looking for more mindfulness options. To learn more, check out our in-depth Alo Moves review.
